This weeks ATHLETE OF THE WEEK goes to senior captain Sayde Nichols. Sayde had a full knee reconstruction surgery on August 23rd , 2019 and has gotten herself back to 100% softball shape since. Typically found in the short stop position this season, this week Sayde found herself back in the circle after 3 full years of no pitching. Sayde pitched 5 full innings and struck out 4 OLMA batters. She also had 2 hits in 2 at bats with one scored run and 2 RBIs in the same game.
Not only is Sayde a great softball player, she is also a model student and a great leader on and off the field. The younger players look to her for guidance and encouragement. Congratulations Sayde!
